While transitioning your league to Sleeper could take some time, it's worth it for the improved gameplay and strategy. To make the switch, you'll need to sign up and log in to Sleeper, create a league, customise the settings, and then invite your friends to join. You can then start assigning players to teams. Sign up and log in to Sleeper

Signing up for Sleeper is easy. You can either go to the Sleeper website or download the mobile app. On the homepage, you will see a "Sign Up" button. Click on that and follow the instructions to create an account. You will be asked to provide a username, email, and password. It is recommended that you link your email or phone number to your Sleeper account in case you lose your login credentials and need to recover your account.

Once you have signed up, logging in is simple. If you are using the website, click on the "Log In" button on the homepage and enter your credentials. If you are using the mobile app, open the app and tap on the "Log In" button. Enter your username and password to log in.

After logging in, you can edit your account settings. To do this, click on your profile icon in the bottom left corner of the screen. This will take you to your preferences page, where you can edit your username, profile picture, and other information. You can also change the phone number and email associated with your account and update your password if needed. Create a new league

To create a new Sleeper league, you must first be logged in to your Sleeper account. From there, you can access your dashboard by following this link: https://sleeper.app/dashboard.

Once you are on your dashboard, you will need to create a league group. This is done by clicking on the "+ Add a managed league group" button at the bottom of your dashboard and filling out some basic settings. You can customize these settings later.

After creating your league group, you can create your leagues manually. Click on the "View Leagues in this group" link above your league group to open up your leagues. From here, simply click on "Create League".

You will now be able to view your newly created league and see a private invitation link that you can send out to specific people to join that league. As the creator of the league, you are automatically set up as the "commissioner", which comes with the responsibility of setting up the league settings and scoring categories.

Customise league settings

Once you have signed up and logged in to your Sleeper account, you can create a new league. Give your league a name and choose the number of participants. You can edit and customise your league settings, scoring settings, and roster settings at any time during the season by tapping on the settings icon in the top right corner of the screen.

For example, if you want to allow teams to make moves, you should transition your league to the next year immediately after the league's championship ends. Any moves made following the championship will not carry over if you don't transition first. You can enable the Daily Custom Waivers option if you want waivers in the offseason.

Sleeper's fantasy basketball format is designed to create more strategic gameplay and reshape how fantasy basketball is played. Each player can play one game per week, which will count toward their matchup score. You can choose to "pass" on this game or "lock it in" after it's completed, but before the player starts their next game. Once you lock in a player's game, you cannot lock in that player again for the remainder of the matchup week, and you cannot swap that player into a different positional spot.

Sleeper also allows commissioners to manually modify playoff seedings. This feature is available in the week leading up to the postseason on the playoff bracket interface for commissioners. To edit the playoff seeding, go to your league settings, scroll to the bottom, and tap "edit playoff seeding". Tap the seed you want to update, select the team you want to switch to, and remember to tap "update" before exiting the screen.

View your draftboard

To view your draftboard, you'll need to use the Sleeper web app on a laptop or desktop computer. If your league has already decided on a draft time, you can view your draftboard by scrolling under the list of teams on your league homepage and pressing the "Preview" button. If your league has not selected a draft time, you'll see a rectangular icon to the right of "Set Time".

When you first enter or preview your league's draftboard, you'll see a grid, with teams listed along the top row and a set of tiles beneath each. This shows what draft picks each team owns. For example, if a team owns pick 1.1 (Round 1, Pick 1), their next pick might be 2.8 (Round 2, Pick 8).

You can use the "Players" tab at the bottom of the screen to view and make your draft picks. They are listed by ranking and show a number of points they are projected to accumulate. The higher the points, the higher the expectation. In the "Players" tab, you'll see a circular icon with a paper and a plus sign in it. That represents an "Add to Queue" function. You can press these at any time to add players to your queue. The purpose of the queue is to target players you like and would prefer to draft once your turn arrives.

You can also cast your draftboard to a big screen TV by opening a tab on your browser. This option is not available from a mobile device. Make sure to turn on Big Screen Mode by tapping the relevant icon. To cast to your big screen TV, you can use Chromecast or simply plug an HDMI cable from your computer to your TV.

Assign users to teams

Now that you have all of your rosters ready to go, and all of your league mates in the league, you need to attach them to the proper roster.

Go to your league settings and click on Member Settings. Here, you will see each of the teams listed with an option to add on the right of each. Click on the option to add and assign the appropriate user to each team.

Once all of the teams are matched with their respective owners, your league is officially set up!

Supplemental (Rookie) Draft

This step is optional. Now that your league is set up, you have the option of creating a supplemental draft. This allows you to create an additional draft for any reason and you can limit it to rookies or vets only, or all players.

Adding a supplemental draft will give you 2023 picks that you can trade. You can have as many supplemental drafts as you want, one at a time.
