What You'll Learn

Navigating the Sleep app on your Apple Watch
To navigate the Sleep app on your Apple Watch, you first need to set up the app. To do this, you must wear your Apple Watch to bed. The watch will then be able to estimate the time spent in each sleep stage (REM, Core, and Deep) and when you woke up.
To set up the Sleep app, you need to create a sleep schedule. To do this, open the Health app on your iPhone and tap 'Get Started' under 'Set Up Sleep'. Here, you can set a sleep goal, which is the number of hours you would like to sleep for. You can also set your bedtime and wake-up times.
You can also turn on Sleep Focus, which reduces distractions on your iPhone and Apple Watch by simplifying your Lock Screen. Sleep Focus will also turn off your watch display before your scheduled bedtime. To turn on Sleep Focus, go to the Settings app on your Apple Watch and set up your Sleep Focus. This will give you access to specialised home screens and notification settings that will turn on at bedtime.
Once you have set up your Sleep app, you can navigate it by opening the app on your watch. To do this, scroll down from the main watch face using the digital crown or swipe up with your finger. You will then see a card in your Smart Stack with the previous night's sleep. Tap this to open the Sleep app, which will show you your sleep stages, time asleep, the last 14 days' sleep, and your sleep schedule settings.
You can also access your sleep data by opening the Health app on your iPhone. Tap 'Browse' at the bottom of the screen, then tap 'Sleep'. Here, you can view data on recent nights of sleep and set your sleep schedule for the future.
To change your sleep schedule, tap the current schedule in the Sleep app. You can also change your wake-up time by tapping the wake-up time and turning the Digital Crown to set a new time.

Setting up Sleep Focus
Once your sleep schedule is set, you can enable Sleep Focus. This feature simplifies your Lock Screen and limits distractions before your scheduled bedtime, helping you to get a good night's rest. To turn on Sleep Focus, go to the Settings app on your Apple Watch and select Sleep Focus. You can also access Sleep Focus by opening the Sleep app on your Apple Watch, scrolling down, and checking or setting your sleep schedule.
By default, Sleep Focus will begin at the wind-down time you set in the Sleep app. However, you can also choose to control Sleep Focus manually in the Control Center. To do this, turn off the "Turn On at Wind Down" option in the Settings app.
It is important to note that for accurate sleep tracking, you should wear your Apple Watch to bed for at least one hour each night. Additionally, remember to keep your Apple Watch charged, as a dead battery will interrupt sleep tracking.

Charging your Apple Watch
To set up a sleep tracker on your Apple Watch, you must first pair it with your iPhone. Once paired, you can open the Health app on your iPhone and tap 'Get Started' under 'Set Up Sleep'. Here, you can set up your sleep goals, such as the number of hours you'd like to sleep and your desired bedtime and wake-up times. You can also turn on Sleep Focus, which reduces distractions on your iPhone and Apple Watch before bedtime.
Now, for charging your Apple Watch:
Apple Watch has an internal lithium-ion battery that can be charged using the included magnetic charger. Place the charger on a flat, well-ventilated surface and connect it to a power adapter. When your Apple Watch is placed on the charger, the concave end will snap to the back of the watch, ensuring proper alignment. You can also use a MagSafe Duo Charger or a compatible third-party charger, but ensure that you use the original charging cable that came with your Apple Watch.
When charging, your Apple Watch will play a chime (unless in Silent Mode) and display a lightning bolt on the screen. If the battery is low, the bolt will be red; if in Low Power Mode, it will be yellow. To check the battery status, go to the Settings app, tap Battery, and then Battery Health. Here, you can turn on Optimized Battery Charging to reduce battery aging.
If your Apple Watch is not charging, ensure that the back of the watch and the magnetic charger are clean. Try adjusting the charger's position or angle, especially if you have a larger Apple Watch model, to ensure the magnets align correctly. If using a third-party charging stand, use the original charging cable that came with your Apple Watch. If issues persist, try restarting your Apple Watch by holding the side button and Digital Crown simultaneously for at least 10 seconds until the Apple logo appears.
