FlexFit™ 1, 2 and 3 Smart Adjustable Base set-up
The FlexFit™ 1, 2 and 3 Smart Adjustable Base can be used to create a more personalised sleep environment and enhance the comfort of your bed. The FlexFit adjustable base can help improve your sleep quality.
FlexFit™ 1 Smart Adjustable Base Set-Up
To set up the FlexFit™ 1 Smart Adjustable Base, first lay the decking panels down and ensure the mattress connection points at each hip are available through the opening. The hose will be present on all FlexFit models. One person should hold the base in place while the other installs the legs. Press the metal button on the leg and slide it into the frame receiver. Stop at the preferred height setting and twist to lock the metal button into place. Remove rubber caps if on a carpeted surface. Lean the base on the lower legs for stability and check that all legs are the same height. Cut the orange ties and be careful not to cut any wires. Check under-bed connections while the base is on its side. Route smart mattress connections through the opening on each side. Place the adjustable base down in its desired location and use the opening on the base as a handle for adjusting.
FlexFit™ 2/3 Smart Adjustable Base Set-Up
For the FlexFit™ 2/3 Smart Adjustable Base, stand the smart adjustable base on the side rail edges and flex the head panels for stability. Cut all orange ties, being careful not to cut any wires. Set aside the head and foot rails. They will be wedged in between the decking panel and frame. Install the legs by pressing the metal button on the leg and sliding it into the frame receiver. Stop at the desired height. Ensure all legs are set to the same height. Do not remove the clear spacer tape as this ensures a snug fit. Check all connections under the bed while the base is on its side. Route the mattress connections through the opening at the hip of the bed. The hose will be present on all FlexFit models. The foot-warming wire will only be present on the FlexFit 3 model. Lay the adjustable base down in its desired location.
For the FlexFit 3 model, connect the grey straps. First, connect the straps at the hip (one per side) and then at the foot (two) of your bed. Split King models have four foot straps. Feed the strap under the bar and pull until the button aligns with its receiver. Press down until the button is connected. If you have a FlexTop or Split King, stand on either side of the bed and have one person manually lift a decking panel to access the strap snap receiver. Pull the black strap tightly and snap it into the snap receiver on the underside of the decking panel. Repeat on the other side. Inspect your bed to make sure everything is secure.

FlexFit™ adjustable base compatibility with furniture
The Sleep Number FlexFit™ adjustable base is designed to fit inside most standard-size bed frames. It comes with adjustable height legs, which can be modified to ensure the base fits your furniture. To ensure compatibility, it is recommended that you measure your furniture to make sure there is enough space for the adjustable base. Specifically, the adjustable base needs at least 10.25 inches to clear the height of the ledge attached to the inside of your furniture's side rails. If the height of the ledge is above 11.75 inches, the FlexFit™ adjustable base will not fit.
The FlexFit™ adjustable base cannot be combined with platform furniture or under-bed storage drawers. If your bed frame has a ledge for slats attached to the side rails, you must measure the height from the floor to the top of the ledge, and the width of the bed frame at its most narrow point, from ledge to ledge. If the height of the ledge is less than 10.25 inches, the base will fit inside standard-sized furniture.
The FlexFit™ 1 smart adjustable base allows you to elevate your head and is controllable from a smartphone device. You can also gently raise your partner's head to help alleviate snoring. It also has under-bed lighting to help you find your way at night. The FlexFit™ 1 smart adjustable base fits standard bedroom furniture and is made in the USA with global components.
The FlexFit™ 2 smart adjustable bed base accommodates any queen-size mattress. It is compatible with the 12-button traditional remote.
