Using Auto-Lock
The Auto-Lock feature on your iPhone X automatically turns off your display and locks your device after a set amount of idle time. This is a useful feature to have enabled as it helps to preserve battery life and also keeps your device secure.
To change your Auto-Lock settings, first, open the Settings app on your iPhone. Then, tap on 'Display & Brightness'. Here, you will be able to see the 'Auto-Lock' option. Tap on it and then set the timer to the desired amount of idle time after which you want your iPhone X to automatically lock itself. You can choose any duration between thirty seconds to five minutes. If you don't want your iPhone to ever auto-lock, you can set the timer to 'Never'.
Please note that if your iPhone is in Low Power Mode, the Auto-Lock option will be restricted to thirty seconds and will appear greyed out. This is to help conserve power. To change your Auto-Lock settings when in Low Power Mode, simply turn off the mode by going to Settings > Battery and turning off the Low Power Mode switch.
If you have a cover for your iPhone, you will notice that every time you close it, your iPhone will lock, and when you lift the cover, your iPhone will unlock itself. If you do not like this feature, you can easily turn it off by going to Settings, tapping on 'Display & Brightness', and then tapping on the Lock/Unlock switch. Green means the feature is enabled and grey means it's disabled.
