What You'll Learn

Sleep monitoring on Huawei watches/bands
Sleep monitoring is available on certain Huawei watch and band models. This feature allows your device to automatically enter and exit Sleep mode based on your sleep status. When Sleep mode is enabled, your device won't ring or vibrate for incoming calls and notifications (except when an alarm goes off), and the Raise to wake function will be disabled.
To enable Sleep mode, swipe down on the device's home screen and touch the Sleep mode icon. If you have Always-On Display (AOD) enabled, enabling Sleep mode will cause the AOD watch face to turn off several seconds after taking effect.
Huawei's sleep tracking technology, known as TruSleep™, uses PPG signals from heart rate detection technology and the Cardiopulmonary Coupling (CPC) algorithm to track your sleep. The device identifies motion features, classifies your motion levels, and incorporates heart rate fluctuations to track your sleep time, wake-up time, and sleep structure. It then generates a sleep score and provides tips to improve your sleep.
To access your sleep data, open the Huawei Health app and navigate to the device details screen. Go to Health monitoring > TruSleep™ and toggle it on or off as per your preference. TruSleep™ is enabled by default, and if manually disabled, sleep data cannot be obtained, and sleep analysis will be unavailable.
On the Huawei Health app home screen, you can also access the Sleep card to view detailed sleep data. This includes information on your night sleep and naps, as well as sleep health insights. You can also record your sleep by placing your phone within 50 cm of your pillow and letting it monitor your sleep.

Huawei TruSleep technology
Sleep monitoring is available on certain Huawei watch and band models. Huawei TruSleep™ sleep tracking technology uses PPG signals from Huawei's heart rate detection technology, as well as the Cardiopulmonary Coupling (CPC) algorithm, to track the user's sleep data. The CPC algorithm calculates sleep stages and respiratory quality based on continuous single-lead ECG signals.
Huawei TruSleep™ technology is enabled by default. To manually enable or disable it, open Huawei Health, navigate to the device details screen, go to Health monitoring > HUAWEI TruSleep™, and toggle on or off HUAWEI TruSleep™ to suit your preferences. If you disable TruSleep™ manually, sleep data cannot be obtained and sleep analysis will become unavailable.
To record your sleep, access the home screen of Huawei Health, and go to Sleep > Record your sleep, to enter the sleep monitoring screen. Touch Go to sleep and place your phone within 50 cm of your pillow. Your phone will then monitor and record your sleep data. Touch the icons at the bottom of the screen to select, play, turn off, and set a time for sleep music. Touch and hold Hold to end for three seconds to exit sleep recording.
On the Sleep screen, touch the upper right corner and then All data to access historical data records. From that screen, you can touch the delete icon in the upper right corner, select target records, and delete them. The recorded data is cleared at 00:00 a.m. every day. You can view your Sleep score, staging chart, and sleep details on your wearable device, provided that it has been updated to its latest version.
The Huawei wearable device will identify motion to determine whether you are asleep. If you turn over frequently or move a lot during sleep, the device may record more wake-up times and a shorter sleep duration. It is recommended that you wear your device on your non-dominant wrist while sleeping, for optimal accuracy.

Sleep mode on Huawei devices
Sleep mode can be enabled or disabled by swiping down on the device's home screen and making the appropriate selection. When Sleep mode is enabled, the device will not ring or vibrate for incoming calls and notifications, except when an alarm goes off. Users can also choose between Auto and Scheduled sleep modes. Auto is enabled by default and causes the device to automatically enter and exit Sleep mode based on the user's sleep status. In contrast, Scheduled sleep mode allows users to set specific times for the device to enter and exit Sleep mode.
Huawei devices with sleep tracking capabilities use Huawei TruSleep technology, which is based on ACC and PPG data. This technology allows the device to identify motion features, classify motion levels, and incorporate heart rate fluctuations to track sleep time, wake-up time, and sleep structure. The sleep tracking period is from 20:00 of the current day to 20:00 of the next day, with any sleep generated from 20:00 to 00:00 of the current day recorded as the next day's sleep.
Users can access their sleep data by going to the Sleep screen on their device. Here, they can view historical data records, sleep scores, staging charts, and sleep details. They can also customize general sleep settings, such as sleep sounds, and access sleep talk and snoring records. It is recommended that users wear their devices on their non-dominant wrist while sleeping to ensure optimal accuracy in sleep tracking.
In addition to sleep monitoring on wearable devices, Huawei also offers Wi-Fi auto sleep mode on the Huawei Mobile WiFi. This feature helps save power by automatically disabling the Wi-Fi when no devices are connected for a certain period. Users can enable or disable this mode by accessing the advanced settings of their Huawei Mobile WiFi through a connected device.

Sleep tracking principles
Sleep tracking is available on certain Huawei product models, such as the Huawei Watch 4 Series. The Huawei TruSleep™ sleep tracking technology uses PPG signals from Huawei's heart rate detection technology and the Cardiopulmonary Coupling (CPC) algorithm to track the user's sleep data. The CPC algorithm calculates sleep stages and respiratory quality based on continuous single-lead ECG signals. The close correlation between ECG and breathing is enhanced when the user is in deep sleep and can vary depending on whether the user is awake, sleeping lightly, or suffering from a health ailment.
Huawei's wearable devices identify motion features, classify the user's motion levels, and incorporate heart rate fluctuations to track the user's sleep time, wake-up time, and sleep structure. The sleep tracking period is from 20:00 of the current day to 20:00 of the next day. Any sleep generated from 20:00 to 00:00 of the current day is recorded as the next day's sleep.
To enable sleep tracking, open Huawei Health, navigate to the device details screen, go to Health monitoring > Huawei TruSleep™, and toggle it on. Huawei TruSleep™ is enabled by default, and if manually disabled, sleep data cannot be obtained, and sleep analysis will become unavailable.
